Dads and Lads - 17 & 18 October 2009

This past weekend saw the “Dads and Lads” from Western Province Prep School aka WETPUPS in Claremont head out to Hermanus Yacht Club for their all-grade camp-out. Whilst numbers were down on last year, it was a real winner and all who came had a real blast and will undoubtedly spread the word for the next one! The club has never looked better and with the water level brimming and the weather playing ball, the scene was set for a perfect weekend.

Every Lad sailed on either an Optimist or a Hobie Cat, paddle skied, swam, fished, played cricket and went for rides on the club rescue boat. Likewise every Dad had a great time with their Lads too and amongst other things got acquainted with the Honey Blondes from our local Stanford Brewery. This really made watching the rugby a whole lot more bearable and was followed by a superb braai overlooking a very tranquil and stunning moonlit lagoon. I believe the foundations have been laid for a long and enjoyable association between WETPUPS & Hermanus Yacht Club.
