Team Izivungu is represented by Loyiso Jamda of Red Hill near Simonstown and Simthembile Mbana of Masiphumalele near Noordhoek.
Altogether there are 210 yachts competing in the Southern Charter Youth Nationals spanning multiple dinghy and multi-hull classes.
Weather conditions started off light at the beginning of the regatta; however, storm conditions have come through and the strong winds accompanied by gusts have been proving both challenging and testing for one and all. The championship is scheduled to take place throughout the week and comes to a conclusion on Saturday on Stofvlei in Hermanus.
